Good Thursday Morning, Kids!
Great to hear @Darrel is rejoining the working world next month, after we do some trail play in the sun here in AZ next week.

Have seen a lot in two weeks(ish) but still feel like we’ve barely scratched the surface… Yuma was great, as was Sedona, and a couple days in Tucson with my brother and his bride was “Super” and included a visit to the Saguaro National Forest…

Today’s trek will take us toward Winslow as we travel parts of Route 66 and see where the highway takes us!
Hoping you’re all doing well and that your plans for 2026 are moving forward!

Looking cloudy and cooler today in Wickenburg to start the community festival here… Heading down shortly to look at the car show and have some breakfast. Great time on the road yesterday exploring Route 66, most of which is now pretty much invisible except for the occasional ruin covered in graffiti, and looking forward to connecting up with @Darrel this weekend for some off-road shenanigans.

Good morning! Happy Saturday!
I've been hit by a cold, possibly the flu. Thought it was allergies, until Thursday. But feeling much better today. Ready to make the drive to AZ.
I signed the job offer yesterday, so it is more official that I'm going back to work on 3/2/26. Bringing my lap top because I will get more forms to sign for my background check. They will uncover all my skeletons.

I have some Starbucks Breakfast Blend pods for anyone needing some go-go juice. Sorry, but Starbucks gets my vote still, as much as I try to get unaddicted to the burnt bean taste.

Hoping to catch the weather report before I start getting ready to head out.

Good Sunday Evening! I’ve been absent the past week because I was out exploring the desert in New Mexico doing photography. Yesterday I left at 5am to be at Bosque del Apache for bird photography at sunrise. The bird activity was pretty much over by 10:30am, so we hit the trails to explore the Gordy’s Hill area and had 5 hours of fun in my friends JLU.

We found a way around and did not make the Taco mistake!

So I guess I’m the weirdo that takes pictures in the restroom! I went to a local tap house to have a craft brew with the kiddos yesterday. When I went to the BDC (beer discharge center) I saw these cool posters on the wall from back in the day when Ford was “Built Ford Tough”!

The sink facet was pretty cool too:

Good Morning! I love those old posters that @Sam I Am 1966 posted. As a car freak, I remember all the car ads from the 1960’s to present. As a tween, I leaned how to drive in my Dad’s red with white grill 1966 Ford F100 with a straight 6-cylinder and manual on the steering column. It was advertised to have a tough Twin-I-Beam suspension. I have some good memories of my Dad teaching me how install new valves and grind the valve surfaces, and install new lifters and valve springs, flush the radiator, install a new thermostat and hoses, and change the belts…all at 100,000 miles for preventative maintenance. He put 160,000 miles on it before trading it for a 1972 Ford Galaxy 500 station wagon because we need a larger family car.

I’m headed out to the desert again today to do more exploring.
