Good morning all! I put out pods. Yup, not all gone yet. Another yup, I got up late again and not moving too fast. But, I did make progress yesterday. Not sure I progressed in the right direction, time will tell. Also had my eyes checked yesterday. Luckily nothing bad showed up. I still don't have to have glasses, but I may get some for traveling. If you are pilot and co-pilot, seeing really good could help.
The guy that bought the wagon sent me a pick. Had some rust fixed on the rear wheel wells and had the bottom painted black. Looks cool.
So sorry @Sven is having to battle about his insurance. Just wrong when he is also having to fight for his health.
Prayers and hugs to all who need it today! I don't right now, but might later on.

Dealer update:
Tires are not shot. He was looking at the abrasion from Moab slick rock. Says, look how rough and uneven the wear is from the inside to the outside.” I’m like, “oh that? That’s from skipping tires on slick rock. Let’s measure the tread wear, I have a gauge in my pocket.” Lol. 14/32 of tread on both sides of the tread…so basically I’ve only lost 1/32 on the outside edges in 19K miles, not bad at all, lol.

I’ve had a thump when coming to a stop when the truck sits back on its haunches since new. Never got the mechanic to feel what I do…until today!!! So whatever that is will hopefully be addressed without too much BS. The thing that was most frustrating is the one service writer who used to work there…used to. He told me, “it’s a truck, it’s gonna have bumps and noises”. I’m like, “no, not for $100k!“ Yeah…he was fired. I hated that dude. But at least it can be addressed now!

I have a tear in the driver seat cushion that looks like it’s a cut. It’s not cut. It’s a stress tear. Showed the service rep. She agrees and will fight for me.

I've got 39k on mine now and hoping I can get through the winter. I'll be looking for new tires in the spring.

Well crap, it looks like mines right smack in the middle. Mine was built the first week of Jan. '22. It's funny, though. The only fuel pump failure I have direct knowledge of were on 2024s. We had to drag one off the trail, BTW, which was a PITA.

Good Friday Morning, Kids!
After a cloudy couple of days were are now in for 10 days of sunshine and warmer (-15 to -10 range) days here in Western Washington… With a couple of community celebrations going on the traffic on our little two-lane highway is gonna be a MESS.

Sonya and I are finally feeling pretty much back to normal, and glad to have whatever bug was roaming our innards gone… Nothing compared to some of the challenges others are facing, but glad to have it in the rear-view mirror… Our USAF son (Captain and soon to be MAJ) have arrived at their new PCS location in Northern Utah and we couldn’t be happier… We have a couple trips this fall (One to Vegas, one to Colorado) which will now become loops to include visits in Northern Utah… woohoo!

Here’s a question for the group… Papa (me) has historically bought the first car (or truck) for upcoming sixteen year-old grands, and I’m soon to be in the market for a well-used smaller vehicle with a manual transmission that can be had for less than $10K… prefer something around 5-6K so that I can do a little work on it before delivery…. Anyway, I don;t want to be blind or unawares as to what I might find out there, as I tend to gravitate to those things I know (why I have three Fords in the driveway)… Anyway thoughts from the sage wisdom in this group?

I don’t believe it should, the only thing Ford is saying about New vehicles is that the Dealer can’t sell, or deliver, or even demonstrate the vehicles in question!

You should be good!
But you never know, Ford may turn around and say they need these fuel pumps for their recall….
Just hope it doesn’t come to that!!!

If I read the notice correctly, then Broncos are only through July of 2022. Anything newer than that and you're OK. That being the case, the hold to sell order might only be for used Broncos in the model years involved. So that means newer Bronco's would be available for sale. So, that might also mean that Ford won't be in as big of a hurry to get parts available for us older Gen 6 Bronco models. 😒 What's odd is that the only fuel pump failures I've seen in person have been for newer models than my '22. We've had to drag at least one off the trail because of it, and that was a major PITA once the battery died and with no power steering.

I'm still going up to the "Northeast Kingdom" of Vermont Friday for a group run on Class IV roads. Er, trails. These are legal roads that have been abandoned by the towns and counties, and are thus "unmaintained." So you don't know what you're going to encounter...until you encounter it.

I had a VW Jetta, 2006 I think, while waiting on my Bronco. 2l with a 6 speed. It was a good car.
Have owned several Honda's. Can't go wrong there. My son had an older Ranger that was great too.

Howdy from cloudy Arizona. Yup we're going to get some rain. I been a busy beaver getting a dirt pad made before a monsoon storm. At least getting the good dirt above grade.

I'm on cup two and one more to go before hitting it.
