But we’ll keep hoping that he checks in again one day!

That works…. Or cut the heated seat on when they aren’t looking is effective…. Also, wait til they nap, get behind a semi being towed backwards, scream and slam on the brakes…. What happens after that is unpredictable.

Happy Saturday morning! Yup slept in this morning. Up late last night going through pictures. Been procrastinating on this for weeks. I did get a good laugh. Found the picture of Jeff with his home made hat. We would go on a canoe trip every August with 2 other couples without our kids. Wheel on Saturday, canoe on Sunday. One year Jeff forgot a hat. So while sitting around the campfire Saturday night, he took a paper plate and duct tape and made him a hat. So funny. We get on the bus the next morning and the reaction from the other canoe goers was hilarious. His responses back to them was even funnier.
Thoughts and prayers to @Sven and @JoergH and @Bluestreak57 and anyone else with challenges themselves or family.
Hug the ones you love. Maybe strangers too, if you're brave.
I'm off for a walk and then to wash the Bronco.
Then I may go on a cruise with my car club or I may go buy flowers to plant. Leaning toward flowers, with all the rain, digging should be easier.

OVERLANDING IN 1936.

Ok, back then, they call it traveling but whatever...

This July 1936 photo of Vernon Eveans (his family was traveling with him), documents their travel from South Dakota to Oregon, looking for work. Tough people. The photo was taken near Missoula, Montana, by Arthur Rothstein.

There was no Interstate and not even many paved roads, here in the Northwest, at that time. Still, they say he made about 200 miles per day in that Model T Ford.

I do not know about 1936, but a document at the Montana Historical Society says there were on 50 total miles of PAVED highway in the state by 1928.

Good Saturday Morning, Kids!
First of all, THANK YOU for the kind thoughts and affirmations as my son hangs in the hospital… So far the news is pretty good… seems a dialysis catheter had become infected and likely blood flowing through during dialysis was spread via the bloodstream all over the place (think foam cannon washing your bronco)… anyway, if things go as planned a new catheter and dialysis will happen today and then he’ll go home with lots of antibiotics… No news on the Mitral valve, so I’m assuming no news is good news… On another front my son moving to Utah is under contract for the house they were hoping to get… so, a good (if long) week all around…

The weather in 425 will be cloudy and dry today, with high at about -40°. Perfect for finishing the platform and getting the tool shed assembled and upright… looks like gray and possible showers for the next 10 days… oh joy!
Once the tool shed is done I can get some more crap out of the garage and get serious about two projects I hope to finish before the trip to Japan… fingers crosssed!!

@JoergH and @Sven are in thoughts and prayers, and a more generic one sent for those I don‘t know about who might be facing challenges of one kind or another. Thanks, @BroncOitis for the update on @EGBronc , and always glad to hear news on those who have wandered off for the time being.

Happy Mother's Day to all the mothers out there. If you care for and love a 2 or 4 legged "child ", you are a mother in my eyes.
Went on a cruise with the car club yesterday and washed the Bronco. It was a beautiful day. Today is too, so hoping to do what I originally planned to do yesterday. Lol
For 40 years, all I asked for is to be left alone so I could plant flowers. It wasn't like I had gifts or cards to open. Or had to go out to eat. Because that wasn't going to happen. Jeff said I wasn't his mother and I was OK with that. But I was going to do what I wanted and they could fend for their selves for one day. Welp, they still leave me alone. If only my message for the importance of an education would have had the same impact, I would consider my self a much better mother. Lol

My daughter was having a hard time getting her mother a gift and asked me for ideas…. I told her she really wanted 500 rds of .308 and a half rack for the new hardtop… we’ll see what happens.
