So very glad to hear that everything turned out ok
@Kenneth.
I had the same thing done about 8 years ago and they said that there is a plaque build up in your arteries, but through a CT scan they couldn’t tell how much but that there is plaque.
This all stems from my parents who have very high cholesterol, and it’s hereditary.
I’ve been able to get my cholesterol down to about 185 during Thanksgiving and Christmas, and during the spring and summer months with statins it’s around 165.
A few years ago (more like 20) my cholesterol was for the longest time up around 325 and that’s when I was strongly recommended statins to start bringing it back down.
It took approximately 3 or 4 years to finally bring it back down to what was close to normal (around 200).
What really woke me up was when my brother who is one and a half years younger than me, and in much better shape, had a heart attack.
He was so fortunate to realize that something wasn’t quite right, and he went to the clinic who told him you need an ambulance right now.
He just got to the hospital when his heart stopped and they had to use paddles to bring him back.
My mom called us early in the morning and said “Doug had aheart,” and I said “Doug who”……”YOUR BROTHER.”
He was only 42 when it happened!!!
It didn’t really hit me until I saw him at the hospital and he showed me the burns from the paddles when they shocked him back, I just couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
Anyhoo!!!
I’m still trying my best to keep my cholesterol below 200, I know I’m not a real active person, just too many hours at work, and by the time I come home I’m pretty much exhausted.
