I've had some Yokohma's over the years. I think they are a pretty good tire. I think I had them on a pick up before. Could have been a bike..

We had some chokeyurmamas on a race car, didn't like them.

If you are out in the Western Pacific… HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I truly hope for each of you a great and prosperous year in 2025.

Coffee this morning is an assortment of K-pods with everything from Sumatra and Dark Magic to some light roast that is difficult to call coffee. Donut run in the near future, so if you have a druther let me know…

2025 will come with many changes, hoping the least of these is much better mobility as a result of the two Steves. Our son stationed in Georgia with his family will be PCS’ing to Logan, UT where he will be a ROTC instructor at Utah State University. It has been a dream of his to teach ROTC, and will be a good posting to retire from in a few years. I haven’t been to a high school reunion since my 10th, and 2025 will mark 50 years since graduation, and the reunion will happen in mid-October… wow, I’m getting old!

Lots of travel planned, including two Bronco trips to Moab and also to Colorado… Also a three week jaunt to Japan to enjoy a new country with my island grands and their parents… This trip was the impetus to finally getting the knees done, and 2025 promises to give the new knees a good shakedown cruise.

Resolutions? I usually refrain but this year I have a few I need to keep in front of me.
1. Finish Randy’s manuscript before the end of January (@BostonBadlands )
2. Make good use of the new hinges… lots of years of bad habits to change
3. Get all the Bronco stuff in my garage installed on OB-1
4. Show more grace and patience with the resident troll(s) here on BN

I don’t say it enough, but starting the day with y’all helps keep me sane and smiling. It’s really gratifying knowing there are lots of “just normal joes” out there who are excited and “into” Broncos and enjoy sharing their excitement.

If you’re facing medical challenges in 2025 please make sure you’re not facing stuff alone… reach out to one of us via the forums or (more confidentially) a DM (conversation) and let us know how we can help. Sometimes knowing that there are folks out there who are aware and available if needed makes alot of difference. Sometimes help will be a joke or perhaps a small token, but little things go a long long way…

HAPPY NEW YEAR!
Be a good human this year!

@Bluestreak57 said, regarding resolutions:

'1. Finish Randy’s manuscript before the end of January (@BostonBadlands )'
I'm flattered I'm first on your list! I sent it to you thinking if you were laid up, it could help you pass the time. Anyway, I hope you enjoy. Small world department:

@Bluestreak57 further posted,
" Our son stationed in Georgia with his family will be PCS’ing to Logan, UT where he will be a ROTC instructor at Utah State University. It has been a dream of his to teach ROTC, and will be a good posting to retire from in a few years."

I'm absolutely certain the ROTC candidates will be very well served. Apple, tree, all that.

If you haven't picked up on it yet, my novel is set in Cache Valley, Logan being the primary city and county seat. Logan would be smaller and more intimate in the time of Heaven's Outcast's setting. I wanted a virtuous country heroine who's a bit too sharp for the "local talent," and anxious to expand her horizons. I also needed a locale that was rural, conservative, reasonably prosperous with authentic Western values and practices, so I set it in Cache County (and other Utah locales). Harmony lives in Clarkston (real place), on the western side of the valley underneath Gunsight Peak, which offers the best view of the Bear River Mountains. Her love interest lives on the opposite side of Gunsight Peak--"the wrong side of the mountain," in more than one way.

You'll see that geography works as a "character" in its own right. And there are religious themes with which you have some familiarity...

Um...."trolls"...? I missed that, even with a third reading (seeing as I'm mentioned).

Some of my bad habits have just fallen away with aging.
Some I try to correct.
Far too many bad habits, I've just adjusted to and learned to live with.

Edit: Fortunately, my wife doesn't participate in this forum.

Howdy from sunny Arizona. The last day of an awesome year and My brain for both work and play have been looking forward to 2025.
I missed a couple days here, cuz both Louise and I had this coughing kind of cold. But I think we'll be around a campfire tonight celebrating.
@Darrel , congratulations on your anniversary, sorry I chimed in late.
@Bluestreak57 I like your list, especially cuz well get to hang out with you and your bride on a couple, since two of those are on my list too. Your welcome to come over and enjoy the sunshine anytime.
@Sven I have no concept of that snow stuff. And now that Christmas movies are over with, I won't see anymore on TV thill next year.
I don't mean to leave out any of the rest of you shenanigan folks. So to you and to everyone else, a happy New Year.

Am looking forward to 2025 - Gonna get my heart fixed!! Yeah, busy life gave me excuses to delay healthcare stuff. Well, the cardio folks finally caught up with me and January's now loaded with more test, cath procedures, etc.

FYI, these cardio peeps are THOROUGH & TOUGH!! I mean, visiting my family doc's always been fun. He's a long-time buddy, grew up Montana, did residency in Alaska. We enjoy sharing wildlife pics, stories, etc. Our PA daughter 'n law wasn't happy with my doc's follow-up, demanding I see these specialist - She was right.

This diagnosis is a blessing! Some 20% of people with cardiovascular disease find out after a fatal heart attack and many more only after debilitating symptoms. I feel fine!

Cheers

I am looking forward to 2025 and any of the trips that are planned or yet to be planned in the upcoming year.
I think I’m done with all the surgeries for now, now it’s time to enjoy the next several years with friends and family.
(however)
I have one more thing, but not scheduled yet on my “to do” list, and that is ………to find a place that can help me remove one of my personalities, think I’ll keep Skip, and remove Henry.
I think I will give Skip a try tonight for our New Year’s Bash that we have every year.
Henry has made his presence known for several years on New Year’s Eve, and people have fun, but not a blast……
We’ll see how tonight goes with Skip….
By the way this is BroncOitis writing this….

Happy New Year’s everyone!!!

It is a blessing. I got an new Aortic Heart valve about three years ago. All spruced up and ready to go till dead...It will be worth it to get whatever you need. I felt fine.....ha...I was sweating...oh well....fatigued....well you would be if you had my stress.....walking slower...needed a new hip....breathing hard...well this is what it is like when you are out of shape (waiting for another hip surgery).. a bit dizzy...must be the new glasses...ha....I had all the symptoms but didn't realize it.

Grateful I could get the surgery and when I was finally diagnosed it was like an Ahh Ha moment as I had all the symptoms. I went in for my second hip surgery pre op and they said...no hip surgery now, you need a heart valve.....that will wake you up....Thank God for another day!

Trust all will be well!!!!! Happy New Year!!! Gob Bless!!!! 2025 is going to be an AWESOME year!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Both of our sons were in bands. Both bands practiced at our house. One in the attic, the other in the basement. 5pm to 8pm every frigging day.
My neighbor stopped me outside. Shared that all the neighbors were calling him, complaining. I said that I was sorry and asked what he was saying to them. He told them to pray for us and to thank us if they saw us and let the city leaders know this city needed to have more for teenagers to do in this town. He said this couple has provided about 20 kids a place to go and something to do. They are not out running around doing nefarious things. He said they all backed down.
