I was in Harvard Square this morning, and saw a very attractive young lady whom I took for high school wearing a West Point jacket. I struck up a conversation. She was actually a West Point grad and attending Harvard Med! I told her, "I'm a Parris Island guy myself," to which she drew a blank. So I enlightened her, also pointing out that my son is a "Quantico Man." She said she has a nine-year active duty contract when she gets her M.D. degree! "So you're probably in for the full twenty," and she said yes, she is.
We each thanked each other for our service.

My sleep world is so screwed up...add in coffee and it gets really unpredictable right now. As I sit here at 02:45 MDT the "limbo" part of this ride I'm on keeps screwing with my head. Thank you all for letting me vent/share a little of this to get through the days!

Coffee this morning is Kirkland French Roast, and I told Sonya we needed to start picking up local roasts as we make are way out on day trips… Both OB1 and Goose (our Maverick) got cleaned up yesterday… bought a chemical guys foam cannon last year and man does that make things easier… the top may be coming off today…

Get out and make it a great start to Easter Weekend… Hoping everyone got a three day weekend!

Coffee this morning is Kirkland French Roast, and I told Sonya we needed to start picking up local roasts as we make are way out on day trips… Both OB1 and Goose (our Maverick) got cleaned up yesterday… bought a chemical guys foam cannon last year and man does that make things easier… the top may be coming off today…

Get out and make it a great start to Easter Weekend… Hoping everyone got a three day weekend!

For some in Massachusetts (and Maine, which was once part of Massachusetts), it's a 4-day weekend, as Monday is Patriot's Day. Tonight is the 250th Anniversary of the "To Arms!" rides of Paul Revere (who was captured by British sentries) and William Dawes, who got through. And tomorrow, Saturday is the 250th of the Battles of Lexington ("the shot heard 'round the world") and Concord. The colonials lost both battles, but the Red Coats paid for dearly on their march back to Boston, as Minutemen from surrounding towns showed up and engaged in guerilla tactics, picking them off at will. British casualties were about 1/3. And they never captured the munitions in Concord, which was the object of their quest: the Colonials removed and cached them elsewhere beforehand.

Ah, Al: yes, I'm off to Costco. You seem to have a thing for those Kirkland beans, yet your region is renown for popularizing darker (French) roasts. Buy local ☕ !

A local coffee in New England is "Green Mountain Coffee," but I seriously wonder whether those beans are really grown in Vermont's Green Mountains. 😜
