Anyone else have this? I noticed a couple days after getting my bronco from the dealership the trim piece covering the airbag on the passenger side is not all the way in, and I can’t seem to push it in any further. Any tips or should I just take it in?

I have the exact same issue on the passenger side. 2024 Raptor that we just got last week. It also has an annoying bent piece of plastic on the driver side airbag flap that I stare at every day.

I never ended up doing anything about this, but do plan on getting some more interior lighting soon, and know that requires taking these plastic panels off to route the wiring, so maybe once I do that I’ll try to play with them and see if I can get them into place better.

I do agree with some people on here saying the fun you have with these Broncos really outweigh the little things you can nitpick, HOWEVER I do strongly believe we have a huge problem with car manufacturers overcharging for vehicles with crappy interiors. Not saying the whole interior of Broncos are bad, but to put the same cheap plastic in a base trim, all the way up to a $60k car seems ridiculous to me. It’s not just Broncos, or Ford.

Agreed. It wouldn't be noticed on a galloping horse but it's frustrating when little stuff like that isn't right. Plastic charging door in the backseat won't click closed and also a little plastic trim above the license plate won't stay in place either.

Might pull it off tonight and see if anything obvious is blocking it from the airbag side.

Mine did that as well and the dealer ordered a new piece and installed it. It still does it. I have noticed that tightening the bolts there seem to make it pop out further and further. I can still see my airbag from the side view.

Has anyone actually gotten Ford Motor Company to successfully remedy this issue? I have a 2025 OBX with only 5k miles and mine has also been this way since delivery. I've been to the local dealership three different times. Initially they told me that's just how it was supposed to look. I found the TSB that it is a known issue and went back. They ordered a new trim piece, installed and looked the same. Then they ordered the parts outlined in the TSB and Ford just sent another trim piece (great support for their dealers...). Today they installed the parts for the TSB which I was told were spacers and some foam, and it looks exactly the same. I agree with all the comments here that it is a wildly fun vehicle, but it is also the most our family has ever spent on one, so it's very disappointing to see the terrible quality for the interior pieces. The most frustrating part is it's like 3 weeks every time between visits, so Ford clearly cuts bait after they get their $60k and hopes you'll learn to live with it. I also inquired about a squeak on the rear roll bar cover plastic, and was told to give it through a few more thousand miles and see if it goes away. Sounds like a butter knife on Styrofoam every time I go over any rough terrain. Hopefully Ford Motor Company will see this and do something given how many people seem to be affected. I'm about to go back to the GMC dealership and trade back to them crossing fingers on their lifters. At least they know how to outfit a quality interior.

This is how they are designed. It has to do with how the side curtain airbags deploy.

Thank you for the reply, but I respectfully disagree, because there are over a dozen 2025 models on the dealer lot with this piece sitting flush. Even the service rep stated such. I went out and found an identical OBX Lux and this piece on both driver and passenger sits flush. It would be nice if Ford would weigh in.

That’s interesting. Maybe something finally changed on them. Mine is a 2022 and I hadn't seen any that looked differently. But I haven’t looked at any of them since probably 2023. Now I am thinking I should look at my 2025 and see.

Went and looked at the 2025 and it has the same bump down on the trim piece that has the two bolts that hold it in. And if I remember, where that bump down on the trim piece is located has a black, curled bracket that wraps around the side curtain airbag and secures it. As was told to me that bracket holds the airbag in place and helps direct the airbag during deployment. I did find that both when I installed my interior dome lights and while running my power wire for my GMRS remote speaker, I was able to adjust all the trim pieces front to back and improve the fitment of them.

All great information, thank you again for your input!

Mine was like this. Most vehicles on the lot had the same issue. After the for sale Broncos were fixed, mine was also. A new part which had to be heat treated to fit properly.

Frustrating for sure, they can’t seem to get their plastic moldings right. I ended up not doing anything about it, dealing with the dealership is more difficult than it’s worth imo

I took mine in and it was eventually replaced; much better now. No issues on driver side, only passenger.
