Exactly what the title states - putting a thread together where we can come and post little tidbits of anything we have done today, and as we build them to our own tastes.

Installed the BroAddict Slide out tailgate. Simple but definitely need an additional body to help with the lifting and placement.

So as we inch closer to KOH and Baja, we took Nag out on a night run on 4 Peaks trail to stretch his legs and test out the Midland speaker installation. Had a little over an hour drive up to the trailhead. As we were five minutes away from the turn off I got a power train malfunction notification. I pulled off, stopped and turned off the truck. Aired down started up the truck and the wrench went away. Drove to trail head and all was fine. I went the whole three hour run and zero issues. stopped to air up and my ARB engine mounted compressor didn’t work. Even though I did air up with it prior to heading out. Fortunately lots of other compressors to borrow. Jumped on the road for the two hour drive home and an hour in the wrench and code popped up again. Zero issues driving home. This morning I did a quick cleanup of the engine compartment and found that the ground wire for the compressor ha separated from the mounting ring. Easy fix, compressor is working like a champ again. I will call my service advisor and get him into the shop this week. Maybe I will get the new tires installed before KOH not after. And the suspension worked killer!

That's a terrible idea, when do we start?

Do you have a code reader? If so, I'd pop that on there and see what codes you were getting. But that bad ground for the compressor COULD have been the root of all those issues. 😎

I was thinking/hoping that might be it. I just went got one given to me at Christmas. I just fond where I left it. I will plug it in at halftime

It appears that once I fixed the wire connector the code has gone away. I have an appointment for regular service tomorrow. They will check the malfunction code and definitely the battery and charging system. Fingers crossed!

With all of the vehicle drama I forgot to say what a difference the Midland mini external speaker makes! No more muffled radio transmissions. It is nice to be able to keep the radio on at a decent level and hear the GMRS also. If you have an on board radio, this is a must have!

Took Nag in for a regular service and an inspection of the battery and charging system, along with pulling and identifying exactly what the fault codes were. Upon inspection it was exactly what I thought, and had corrected. The loose/detatched ground wire from the air compressor harness was intermittently making contact at the point it had been connected to, causing the fault codes to pop up.

Got a pre-Black Friday deal on a set of AirLift bags the other day. $440 delivered. Installed them this afternoon. Should help with the camper towing.

Added to this mod today with the airbag cradles from Airlift. It would have been very helpful and considerate if the original ad for the product would have had a notation stating that if you off road your vehicle you need the cradles. I could have installed these at the same time without wasting another afternoon. I really hadn't thought of any issues such as this as I was getting them for towing, which actually worked out quite well. As I was working on another project later that afternoon on the day I originally installed the bags and had the Bronco jacked up with the wheel off, I noticed that the bag was stretched to the point of acting as a limiter for the axle. That can't be good so I emailed AirLift and they replied that if I was concerned about axle droop when off-roading that I should order their cradles. I ordered promptly and just got around to installing them yesterday and yet another fact that should have been mentioned is that they would not line up correctly on the Bronco. Had to redrill holes in the brackets to get the cradles centered properly.

Airbag stretched while vehicle up on jackstand.

Airbag cradle misaligned.

Cradle bracket modified new holes.

Airbag properly seated in cradle.

Airbag out of cradle with axle extended.

I did that a month ago, and I swear the touch to response is slower.

Onboard compressor build and install. 3D printer a power switch panel that I can unplug the compressor from the vehicle and go mobile.

Last week, but still fresh… Got my JCR bumper and FP winch kit (Warn Zeon 10S) installed. I’ll have the FP mount available for sale soon if anyone around Cincy needs it for the modular bumper.

It was clean for almost 24 hours. 🙂

Wow nice job, I have a similar set up except mine is always mobile. I have an Anderson connector behind my bumper run through a circuit breaker that I plug my compressor into. I can also use this plug as a connection for jumper cables works well.
