Thor Build - SlashRacer’s Bronco

I normally don’t name my vehicles, but the FordPass app needed a nickname for the bronco. Thor was the first thing that came to my mind. I reserved my bronco on 7/13/20 at 10:17pm. It took over 2 hours of constantly refreshing the ford website before I was finally able to get my reservation to go through. I finally took possession of Thor on 12/27/21.

Are you seeing any stone chipping that everyone is complaining about or are you just dealing with Silver Lake dune sand !:)

I managed to install it without air bubbles. :cool:

If someone installs one, do it in a well lit area or have a flashlight. It was hard to see and get it started across the top and get it straight.

This is a sore subject for me.. the screen protector i bought on amazon had 2 in the package. When trying to get the bubbles out, the "applicator" that came with them scratch the plastic and I had to scrap that one and use the second one. Then, after installing the secone one, a huge bubble formed and it refused to seal afterwards. So scrap 2. Wasted money and no protector. Im glad you got yours to work. Thor looks awsome. Great build.

Are you seeing any stone chipping that everyone is complaining about or are you just dealing with Silver Lake dune sand !:)

I’ve been to Holly Oaks ORV Park twice with it. Thor got a really good cleaning today. I noticed a chip in the drivers side door. Not sure if it was there before I added the new rock rails or if it happened after I added them.

The applicator in mine was made out of cardboard and had some felt tape on the end of it. It was cheap and flexed, but it worked.

My roof started making a popping/rattling noise a month after owning it. Today I added a couple 1/4” wide pieces of 1mm thick felt tape to side locator pin holes. This was where the popping noise was coming from. I did not have any noises coming from the front pins, so I did not add the tape to those locator holes.

Which supplier is your accessory bar ? Did you go right to Archetyperacing ? So many out now ! Any specific reason why you picked this one ?

It is the Archetyperacing bar. I liked the smooth look of this one and that no holes had to be drilled to mount it. The bar is flat all the way across.

Good job. Clean, elegant yet understated. A "form follows function" aesthetic.
A thought: If you add a winch, go hidden to preserve a somewhat minimalist look.

It’s quieter on the inside with the seats up. The other thing I have noticed is moisture between the seats when they are folded down. I believe this is condensate from the temperature swings. I have seen other pics of back seats that had mold on them.
