I will be towing my 17 foot aluminum fishing boat. The weight seems well within the limits. I am not likely DIY and rather just bear with the charge of having it done. How many of you have had your dealer do it and do you regret it? I have a 2024 so the wiring is in the bumper. Thanks in advance.

If it is already wired, watch a YouTube video, easy-peasy! if you do not want to tackle it, a local shop would be less $ than the dealer would be my guess.

So the way I understand ALL the working is already there? Its only the hitch you have to install and connect the plug and wiring to it?

The wiring is there, but the wiring won't be 100% functional without the trailer tow module, which is included (along with the hitch receiver and the plug) in the trailer tow kit. That module gets installed in the driver's side cargo area behind the trim panel, and there are some programming steps to set it up.

I had the Trailer tow kit installed yesterday on my 2025. With programming, it was around $700. It includes 4 and 7-pin connectors.

Yes, it was the Ford hitch and wiring accessory kit. Ford lists the hitch and wiring separately, but then offers a kit that includes both. The module is also included.
