Congratulations on the decision! I hope you end up with exactly what you want.

Have you locked in on a couple trims that interest you yet? Anything you saw that you need to have on your Bronco?

I'm moving over from a Rubicon 4 door Manual - and am trying to go rugged and stay manual. So tinkering with the Badlands with lux & sasquatch - want to make sure that the lower end engine will be okay though since the higher end engines don't come in manual. Open to suggestions and comments on this though!

If anyone has thoughts on manual vs auto w/ higher engine - please let me know!

Everyone here with the 2.7l will tell you it is way better than the 2.3l.and everyone here with the manual will tell you that is the most connected you will feel to the Bronco. I have the 2.3l with Auto and one of the heaviest trim levels you can get, and I think that little 2.3l is plenty of motor for the Bronco. I do not have the tune and I run 87 octane. And now that they added the better brake booster to the 2.3 and dual port injection that is a great set up add in a manual and it’s dang near perfect. Is it a 392 Rubicon nope but it gets the job done. Plus there are shops doing 7.3 Godzilla swaps in Broncos so you can always upgrade to that in the future.

You used a few terms that I have no idea what they mean - ha! (But i'll google them). Glad to hear that you feel the 2.3 is enough engine... I imagine it will be hard to find anywhere to test drive a manual bronco (Nassau County NY) so I'll have to test drive both engines in auto and see. Not a 392 - a) I got my Rubicon the year before that was released and b) don't think that comes in manual.

While I have the 2.7 with Auto and am very happy with it. I don't believe I have ever heard or seen people dissatisfied with the 4-cylinder manual combination.
Two friends with that set up we have done a bunch in Moab and some Colorado. One guy @SAVEUP even tows his trailer.
And I know @Jakob1972 wheels his little 4 just fine with huge dogs in back!
You will definitely like the road manners.

As @Lots O Fords mentioned i have a 2Dr with 2.3l and manual trans and I am very happy with it. I have 65k miles with no issues. Ive wheeled local, 2 trips to Moab, and 1 to Colorado. Ive towed my RPod 171 on 2 of those trips including the mountains. Again no issues. I also run 87 octane most of the time with no tune.
Honestly the Sasquatch package does not get you much for the money if you get a manual Badlands. You can save the $ and add your own wheels and tires. It will come with the lower gears and near same suspension.
You should not be disappointed with the 2.3l. Good luck!

Last summer I was on the Texas toll road around Austin. The speed limit is 85. I passed a Jeep that was slowing to a stop because they were experiencing death wobble.

That's a terrible idea, when do we start?

I agree, the 4 is plenty of pep for most people. The question is, how do you plan to use your Bronco? You might consider the upcoming RTR Bronco. They did some magic with the software to get rid of the turbo lag. That's my biggest complaint about the 2.3. I'm driving a loner Explorer right now with that engine and the turbo lag is driving me nuts.
