I would hold off on purchasing the Ford Performance lift kit. The shocks are subject to rust. They are not responding to my support requests for replacements either. I am gettting the run-around being sent back to the Ford dealer I purchased the kit from for refund or replacment questions. It appears I have to send this issue out to all the publications and social media to get some action. I'm highly disappointed in Ford Performance!!!

You haven't had this on long, have you, @robatl067? You were running stock in Moab for Bronco Safari, I believe. What is your dealer saying?

Actually looks worse than the standard Sasquatch shocks (which I already replaced 1). Just proving my point that Bilsteins suck!

I can't wait to see Ford Performance at my next BN event, I want to question them directly, if my Bronco makes it without my shocks breaking apart.

I went looking for a thread where someone's factory reservoir fell off a shock with surface rust; the owner ended up paying out of pocket because the dealership said it couldn't be covered. Yet someone else's dealer did. 😓 I hope you get a favorable conclusion, @robatl067

You have already lost this battle. Looking at the pics you can see the same road rash on the shock mount and other parts not just the shock. The paint was pecked off not rusted off. Also their is a small dent in the bottom of the shock in pic #2-3. I don't think FORD is going to help from what I see, but I do wish you luck.

If that is the case, then how long should these be expected to last? Should a person purchase these?

You speak as if this is normal; I ask from the sound of your expertise. Do you think this is normal and where have you seen this before?

I have a 2yr deg in automotive technology, also an ASE certified master tech for over 45yrs. I worked for FORD for 15 of those years. I own a well respected shop in my town for the last 23yrs, look us up Master Tech Auto Winder Ga. also mastertechauto.com What I am trying to tell you is that all the metal work around the struts tells the story, the paint is pecked off, the rust is the after effect. Like I said before I wish you luck on this endeavor. No ill will intended on my behalf, only my observation.
