Osceola Adventure!

This past weekend, my dad and I went camping then tackled part of Osceola National Forest. It was a thrill to get more off road time in with my Bronco, and getting to see more of what it’s capable of!

Most of the trails were pretty flat, being in Florida, but there were a few tight roads and some less traveled that invited skillful maneuvering. The most fun part was navigating through (and sometimes around) some deep puddles along the way. My dad was in his ‘92 Jeep Wrangler which was fun to compete with. We’ve never taken the Jeep off-roading before either, so driving both vehicles in this terrain was new for us, which just made it all the more memorable.

My highlight of this short trip was testing the wading depth of my Bronco… I was pretty nervous at one particular instance where I let my dad take the lead then followed after him (most of the time I was leading since I had downloaded a trail map from OnC). I’ll try to attach the video, but we ended up wading at about 24”-26” for a brief moment. I had heard horror stories of some people getting stuck in situations like this, where water infiltrated some of the electronic components of the Sport, since it wasn’t properly sealed from the factory. Thankfully, this wasn’t the case for me! I had no issues, getting through. First go round I was very nervous and cautious. When heading back out though… not so much!

The second most fun part was clinging to a tight, mud and root filled shoulder around a deep puddle that seemed to be too deep for our comfort. I utilized the skills I learned at the Off-Rodeo in Tennessee to get through this tricky terrain! As I’m sure you all know, finding your line, and using a gentle combo of the gas and break to ease through obstacles was how I overcame this, with extreme ease!

Side note: funnily enough, we didn’t even use our kayaks on this trip 🤣

I am continually impressed with my Badlands Sport, and am excited to continue building my experience with it through all types of terrains! First hand learning is always the best in my opinion, compared to watching a video or someone else do it. If you haven’t taken your Bronco/Sport off road personally, I will always highly encourage it, even if it’s something simple like Osceola.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed it, I know I’m not super active on here but I hope to pick that up! As always, happy trails!

Great that you're getting out there and see places you wouldn't have never gone before.

Probably the easiest way to show videos is going through Youtube. Then you can post a link here.
It's pretty intuitive and goes quickly.
