Went to install a rear light under the rear bumper on the #6 switch tonight and had a gremlin. #6 Orange and yellow to the brown and white under the hood and the white and orange to the brown and white under the dash but had no power to the pig tail under the rear cargo area. Tested it with a a meter and very odd. I had power under the hood and under the dash but the white and orange was bad. I had to run a new wire from the brown and white under the dash to the rear bumper and bypass the white and orange, it was very easy but very odd. And who the he’ll put the rear cargo white and orange by the B pillar under the cover. Works now but cost me a good hour trusting the cord wiring. Unless I did something wrong.

Without looking at the wiring diagram I have zero answers for you. That being said I am glad you figured it out.

What light are you adding under your rear bumper?
I hear there is a wire back there for a rear fog light they use in Europe. I haven’t looked but there is also a European headlight switch with rear fog button too.

Based on the attached I’m thinking you may have been connecting the Aux 6 to A1 rather than E1… and if you have a “pigtail” unused somewhere in the back I think it is not for the auxiliary lighting circuits, as they are not provided with connectors… (MY23)
If I misunderstand what you did, my apologies…
