Is it necessary? Why or why not? Does it help your Bronco drive better from the start? This became a big topic of discussion with our family on Superbowl Sunday, when we were all leaving my brother's after the game and it was single-digit temps. The group was divided... so curious where the Nation stands.

I prefer a warm vehicle on a cold day. Modern vehicles and synthetic oils don't have the issues that old timers like to hang on to, saying its hard on the engine.

AI Overview

Yes, warming up your engine helps the automatic transmission
, particularly in cold weather, by allowing the Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) to warm up, reduce its viscosity, and flow more easily. A brief 30-second to 1-minute idle ensures proper lubrication, reduces internal wear, and allows for smoother shifting

I may warm up mine just long enough to get the heated seats all nice and toasty!
