Hi there!

2021 Bronco Sport
Big Bend
24k miles

I shared my experience back in October-November 2024 regarding my starter assembly failure.

Ford made good on this along with the oustanding recalls and baby bronco was running great.

Now, we are noticing an exhaust smell in the cabin. It is intermittent and seemingly more prevelant the longer the vehicle is on. The air recycler button seems to get rid of it, but I do not think this is normal, and it does come back of the heater is running and the heater is on (because the air recycler does not stay on while running the heater).

There is a smell when you're standing to the vehicle, and also sometimes a rough idle or hard start.

I have read others had the same issue and their experiences sound like another nightmare trying to get dealer/mechanic to believe them.

I also read about some vent in the back of the vehicle that could be checked but no clue where to find or if this was bad info.

Called dealer back and they said I have to bring it back in which I really didnt want to do but I also dont want to die lol. They had my vehicle for about a month, and I am still waiting on a reimbursement from the last nightmare.

Also what is the deal with the screeching brakes going in reverse? Post dealer visit, I rhought this was resolved but any humidity and the car sounds like a banshee and it is so embarrassing..

Any advise? Thanks!

I know they had a problem with the fuel injector leaking and some have reported that they smell gas inside the vehicle. I'm not sure that is the issue, but it would be something to check out.

I think I remember reading this could be caused by a cracked or damaged catalytic converter, or something around that area. If you're having to pay for the repair, it might be best to take it to a muffler shop. They're normally a lot less expensive and will be more familiar with this issue.
