Hello!

I know that road hazards can happen anywhere and at anytime, but I was sure surprised to get stuck on a freeway with a flat tire on a car with 1,650 miles on it with tires made for off roading. The screw or nail went in one of the actual treads, not in between, close to the sidewall where they are their thickest, making the tire unrepairable and not warrantied.

Thinking I should replace all of the tires with a more robust tire? My 2018 Ford Explorer had the original Michelin tires until she hit 70,000 miles. Never a flat until that time.

Anyone else had tire issues on this trim level with these tires?

Thank you!

No such issues, but I can tell you despite having numerous types of vehicles, with every different tire out there, for more than 40 years, anything can fail. Anything can flat. With the perfect air pressure, clean terrain, any thread, tires sometimes find the nail. At 70 mph all tires can lose to a nail or screw. I would not rush to replace them at such low miles. Invest in a good spare and jack if you don’t have one.
