Newbie here. Sorry if has been asked before but my search skills are lacking apparently. Looking to add wheels and tires to a 2024 2.3l 3.73 Outerbanks. Will 17x9 with 285/70R17s be a strain on the stock suspension, drivetrain? What weight combo makes the most sense? Also is there a needed offset? Would like a bit of an aggressive look and looking for bolt on option. This Bronco will be only light off-road (no rock crawling, etc.). Thanks in advance.

You won't have any issue fitting a 285/70R17 on a 17x9 wheel. If you are worried about combined wheel and tire weight then I'd suggest getting a C rated tire as they will almost always weigh less than an E rated tire.

I think you'd want an offset of +12 or +20 depending on how much poke you want.

I did find this information re: going to a 17x9 wheel on the Outer Banks. It looks like you'd want a +12 or +20 offset:

For a 17x9 aftermarket wheel on a Ford Bronco Outer Banks, a common and popular offset choice is around +12 to +20mm, which provides a good balance between aggressive stance and avoiding excessive tire poke.

Here's a more detailed breakdown:

+12mm Offset: This offset will result in a more aggressive stance with a noticeable amount of tire poke, especially with non-Sasquatch flares.

+20mm Offset: This offset is a good starting point for a more balanced stance, allowing for a good amount of tire poke without being excessive

I don't think you'd need to remove the crash bars but it you get rubbing you might. I am no wheel and tire expert so maybe someone who is, will chime in.
