Tire size question - TPMS after going from 33 to 35

I feel like this may be a silly question, but here goes…

I finally bit the bullet and swapped out my stock Badlands 33’s with takeoff SAS rims and Mickey Thompson tires. Since the rims came with Ford TPMS, I assumed they would pair up
automatically. They did sync automatically, but they are not sending accurate tire pressure. With my tires at 35 psi they send around 28 to my dash. I assumed the sensors sent the true tire pressure, but now I am coming to the conclusion that I need the tire size changed in order for the pressure to be correct.

I knew the speed would be off slightly, but I didn’t expect reprogram just to get the tire pressure correct. Can someone let me know? Thanks!

follow up - dealer Wants $195 as a standard programming fee. Same dealer that has reasonably priced oil changes for $59 ironically. Ouch.

Weird.. I went from stock Badlands 33" to 35x11.5R17 and mine is dead on accurate. Maybe try this $12 programming tool from Amazon. The reviews say it works on the Bronco.. Not sure if it would solve your problem but it can't hurt to try for $12 right?

Since they did sync up automatically, try dropping the pressure 10 pounds or so and then returning them to correct pressure. My second set of wheels/tires were off until I did this. Many newer sensors are automatic and don’t require any tools to calibrate. Certainly worth a try.

Good tip. I may also stop by the tire shop that mounted them for me. they only mounted and balanced the tires, I put them on the bronco at home. But they still got my money for the tires and mounting, 😝. So they would probably be willing to reprogrammed for me.

Thanks for the tip, I may try this first then. I have aired them down for a trail ride once and back up, but I only took them down to 25 pounds or so. Maybe that wasn’t enough of a drop to reset… not sure.
