Going back a few years... did the COLEMAN LAMP end its journey? Just curious as to what its been upto these days....

Hi Mike, and all.

The lamp was originally a 120v incandescent light built wonderfully by @14U . It has travelled a lot and has had a couple of mishaps that caused both Jerry and me to be concerned about shocks and perhaps arcing that could become a fire issue…

I am sourcing and looking to convert the lantern to LED light bulbs and a small AA battery pack to power it. This will eliminate the cord and eliminate the potential safety issues. It is a work in progress, and I will focus on it once we return from AZ in a couple weeks.

Thanks for the update. I feel like as much as it traveled. It probably survived better than one would expect. Its been cared for by many. I just happened to think about it other night, and was curious to its whereabouts. It definitely has a story. And has been to many places id like to go!! Good luck with the repairs, im sure there will be some suggestions on how and where to get the parts to make it better than ever.

The hope is to have it remodeled and ready for summer travel, along with a “Logbook” and the thumb drive with pictures, both of which will be updated in future travels.
