Getting power from cig lighter in console???

So I’ve got a 23 Outer Banks and I need to get power to my MagSafe charger that mounts on the dash. Best power option is a cig lighter adapter from the console. That’s the only place the Outer Banks has one that is close to the dash. I’ve installed the console vault so I’m wondering if I can drill a small hole in the bottom of the console and run the usb-c cable that way. Not sure if there’s wiring going under there that I could nick when drilling. Thanks everyone.

On my 23 Outrr Banks I have 2 USB plugs on the top of the dash near the center windshield… would that work?

The plugs on the dash are only with the lux package. Sounds like they have a lower trim. I have the high package and did not get power on the dash.

Unfortunately I don’t those. I’ve got usb c and usb a in front of cup holders but the charging speed is garbage off the usb c there. Seems closest spot is the arm console.

Not sure the removal instructions are going to help much but it does look like most of the wires stop before going to the storage bin. I would just be really careful when the drill bit goes through the bottom of the storage bin so it doesn't go to deep. Maybe wrap some tape around the bit so it can only go so far.

I bought one from the Buttercup girl on the youtubes. It doesn't take much skill, just patience. Several instructional videos on the tubes. You can run it down to a power source under the center console. That makes it a data port, or you can run it to the hero switches on the dash. Much easier, but I don't know if it gets power when the ignition is shut off, or if it is also a data port.

I’m looking to get a 20w usb c plug. So I’m not sure if that IAG hub will do the trick. I guess the cig lighter adapter makes it 20w. I appreciate the ideas.

I do as well but believe that is LUX exclusive.

I find these to be fast but the wireless charger there to be super slow and to get hot. The only reason that usb seems a bit slower is that one automatically turns Bluetooth on which can have a drain while charging in the case of power it should do the trick since the magsafe charger shouldn't trigger a Bluetooth nor wifi connection.

Well they must have changed it for 24 because I have them on the dash with only the mid package.

They did make changes to the packages with the 24 model year. I wish I had them, but they were only included in the lux package on the 23s. I went with the high package so I got most of what I wanted.
