Audio Connectivity Issues

(In regards to my 2024 Bronco Black Diamond) Is anyone else having connectivity issues with their audio? I am about to put my fist through this screen while I am driving!! You press a button and nothing happens. Have to push a button 17 times before it does what you want. Takes forever to make a phone call and/or to disconnect. I think Android Auto, Spotify, and Waze are all fighting for dominance over the system. Android Auto keeps disconnecting, so I finally "give in" and switch to Serius Radio or my USB, then PRESTO! Spotify starts working again! I am so fed up. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!

Have your dealer check it out. There was a TSB for 21-23 Broncos and it would not surprise me if the issue persists to the 24's..

Bottom line is that the APIM modules are trash. Some people have been through several APIM's..

I feel like I started having that issue once I started using Spotify. It doesn't happen a lot but I def have that issue. 2021 First Edition. I keep by phone plugged in so if it happens it still connects.

My guess is you'll need a new APIM module but best to have the dealer troubleshoot it. If they give you any guff, show them the TSB..

I have noticed a significant decrease in the reliability of my connection. When I first got my Bronco, I was in AWE of how quick it was to connect, how it always went straight back to whatever audio source I was using, etc. My old vehicle's infotainment system always felt like it never got out of the Beta testing phase. Now, at least 50% of the time, CarPlay will connect but there will be no audio. I have to go into Settings > Phone List > and force a disconnect/reconnect in order to get audio to play through the speakers. One step forward, and two steps back.

I have a 2024 black diamond also and have connection issues too. Mine the sound will cut in and outa bunch of times before carplay disconnects and says audio off. I'll leave it alone or switch to siriusxm and eventually carplay will just randomly reconnect before the cycle starts all over again. my service advisor said it’s a known problem and they’re working on a fix, but everytime I talk to them about it the date of the fix changes 🙁

We had an entire module replaced on our '21 6G. Frequent ReBoots. The advice to see the dealer is sound. there is a fix. Our replaced module works fairly flawlessly.

2021 OB Lux, sync 4 was amazing with Android Auto when I got mine 11/2021, after the updates came out it went to crap. Been at the dealership about 4 times while under warranty, they would update it, replace a module, last visit they replaced everything, and still have issues. I got to the point I just reboot Everytime until that got annoying. I now have a iPhone and it's better. It still has its glitches but in my opinion a little less glitchy then Android, but still not to the level you would think for todays vehicles. Have thought about buying a wireless adapter to plug in and just turn the Ford system off and see if that helps one day. Good luck and I am with you on the annoyance.

Similar experience here as well. I had a Samsung S23 and the connection issues were daily, sometimes multiple times a day that would require me to reboot the system. Frozen screen, non connection etc..

I switched to iPhone and while I do still have issues, they occur less frequently..

The APIM modules Ford is using are trash..

Hope the OP gets it fixed as it is very frustrating..

I am currently experiencing intermittent connection issues with Sync on my 2023 Black Diamond. One particularly frustrating occurrence is when I am engaged in a phone call, the connection abruptly disconnects, reconnects to sync, and then resumes CarPlay. This issue has been consistently occurring, affecting approximately every call I make.
To address this problem, I have attempted resetting the system and disconnecting and reconnecting my phone. However, my screen has occasionally gone black while audio remains active, and it will either reappear or remain permanently blank. As another member has suggested, I am considering taking my vehicle to the dealership to submit a complaint to the Technical Service Bulletin (TSB). I want to put my fist through the dash!!!
