Took my first Rubicon Trail trip with the 22’ Badlands in August. The rig did great but I am definitely glad I did some modifications to it prior. The trail is no joke and I highly recommend you swap out the steering tie rods and box at a minimum. I went the extra step and replaced front axles as well to confidently run the 37” tires. If you run 37’s or larger suggest you lift it 5”. Swap out the bumpers and under body armor. MetalCloak makes a great armor for this.

very cool. Rubicon has been a bucket list trail for me for a very long time.

I did the Rubicon Trail back in the early 90's at a Jeep Jamboree in a Jeep Wrangler YJ (it was hip to be square) that had an add a leaf spring lift, a body lift and 33's... 33's back then were considered massive. LOL

Took a few bypasses but it was still a complete blast!

I must admit if I ever do go to the Rubicon, I'll probably take my Jeep.
It's on Little bitty 32s. That's okay, it's a 47 Willy's.

In 2003, we took three modified Subarus through part of the trail. Would love to go back in my Bronco.

I am not the leader. I just like to go first.

LOL - so true on the tire size. I have 31” on my TJ, 33” on my JKU, 35” on my Heritage (and had on my Badlands) and 37” on the Raptor - wheeling on 37s is like cheating! (of course, the added lift & suspension to accommodate larger tires is also part of the equation, duh)

Never been on the Rubicon trail but, I bet my Rubicon would ♥️ it.
