So many Roof Rack options...

Any advice on which one to buy? It will only be used for a 2 person kayak or 2 1 person kayaks. I'd like to have the option to remove the driver, passenger, and mid tops (4 door Wildtrak). Thanks.

Trailrax!

Next question.

Seriously though, Trailrax has been my favorite roof rack I've ever owned on any vehicle. Bought it during a Black Friday sale several years ago here on Bronco Nation, and haven't looked back.

The problem is it'll be difficult to remove the tops with the Trailrax (and frankly most other roof racks) installed. It's possible if you only install a few of the crossbars, but it'll be difficult—particularly the center panel. So you may have to explore roof racks intended for the soft top Bronco, as it'll give you a little more clearance to remove the panels (examples include the Gobi rack).

$1,200.00 for a roof rack is obscene. Check out Hooke Road.

I'll 2nd that on the TrailRax. I have the lightbar cutout wind deflector and the side racks (for Rotopax, etc).

Not the cheapest, but well-made and sturdy enough for anything I will do with it.

My only dig on Trailrax is that they do not include the reinforcement brace as a standard part. Seems they found a point of failure in their design, and that was the fix. We shouldn't have to pay extra for that.

Considered Gobi, but weight and bulk waived me off.

But if just for a couple of kayaks, all of these full-size racks may be overkill. Maybe something closer to the factory rack would serve your purpose just fine.

The Blanco Bronco video guy had a Hooke Road roof rack. He had to strip it and repaint it due to rust after about a year. The TrailRax roof rack is aluminum, so won't rust.

Hooke Road is made of steel and aluminum. Steel frame with aluminum cross members. TrailRax also uses steel and aluminum. Their site says "Majority aluminum construction."
